My name is Bartek, I work as a counsellor-psychotherapist. I have graduated from The Institute of Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy. I am an accraditated member of IACP – Irish Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy.
I meet clients, who come from various social backgrounds and who represent a broad range of psychological problems.
I provide service both in Polish and English.
Through my work as a counsellor and also as a social care worker I gathered experience which helped me to recognise and develop my personal meaning of empathy and compassion.
I base my style of work on an integrative model of counselling, for example; Reality Therapy, Person-Centred Therapy, CBT, REBT, Logotherapy, or a combination of styles. The style applied would depend on the individual needs of the client and their abilities at any particular stage of the therapeutic process.
I believe in the importance of creating a solid relationship between the client and the therapist. The relationship, based on confidentiality, understanding, acceptance, trust, compassion, authenticity and respect, all create opportunities to maximise the effectiveness of the therapeutic process.
I see the other human being holistically, as a mind, body, emotions and spirituality, which remain in their dynamic interdependence.
During the therapeutic work, I support the clients in reaching their authenticity, which I believe helps to explore and discover their fundamental needs and wants. We work together to increase self-awareness and a sense of freedom in the use of internal capacity and available resources. As a result, the clients can not only cope better with the difficulties of life but also start to look at life with more focus, reaching deeper and deeper into its richness.
